"The Word Project: Odd & Obscure Words- Illustrated" began life as an email folder full of wonderful words that had come into my inbox via Anu Garg's "A Word A Day" service. I had deleted about half of the words outright because I already knew them; then about half of the remainder because they just weren't that interesting. But the words I did keep were delightful, quirky and expanded my world. In 2002 I got the idea to illustrate the words with my bricolage art. Huzzah! The Word Project was born. I have since cast my word net farther afield and the Word Project is all the richer for it.
I started showing the art in 2005. Every time it has been shown- 125 words/115 pieces by now- I get asked why it hasn't been published. Well, I don't know why either...
So, I published it myself. With the generous support of a wonderful group of kikcstarter.com backers, the book "The Word Project: Odd & Obscure Words- Illustrated" is now thrust upon an unsuspecting world. You can purchase a copy for yourself on Amazon.
